It think it is an indicator the computer is still active. When resetting ( rebooting ) the ignition, turn the vehicle off, and activate the door locks. ( you can still be inside ) Wait until all the lights are off, including the red indicator. Activate the door unlock, and restart the vehicle. The reboot will clear some simple warning lights
